Youth Ministry

youth ministry

The mission of Good Shepherd Jesus Christ church is to equip the Church to Win, Build and Send youth for the cause of Jesus Christ. This is a biblical model for youth ministry derived from the ministry and teaching of Jesus.

Win, Build & Send (WBS) is the three-part cause of the Lord Jesus Christ…it is disciple-making through the power of the Holy Spirit. WBS is a way of describing Jesus’ own ministry model with the first disciples. When Jesus called the first disciples, he said, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mt. 4:19, NIV)

We are striving for our church to raise Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists Preacher and Teacher by 2020.

Our strategy is a combination of empowerment and equipping through ministries, resources like guide to conduct Sunday School for toddlers and playing music instruments and events like Youth Sunday, Youth Choir leading Cottage Meetings and Worship. We conduct yearly bible quest to weigh themselves how far and how deep are they with the word of God. We train leaders to establish youths in the five functions of the Acts 2 model revealed in Acts 2:42-47.

We empower the Church to train youth to be learner-followers of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught that disciples love god first and love others as themselves (Mt. 22:37, 39). We teach five values of Jesus that characterize such love:

  • Pray regularly (in the Spirit)
  • Live the Word
  • Tell the story
  • Serve people
  • Give generously

We empower the Church to connect youth with:

  • God – key to an authentic faith
  • Family – key to a lived-out faith
  • Church – key to a perpetuating faith
  • Christ’s cause – key to an experienced and owned faith.

According to Joel2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”. The heavenly visions that the youths see are witness for the tremendous out pouring of the Holy Spirit upon the youths in our church. These young Joshua army are prepared by the Holy Spirit to be the leaders for the nation and to establish Kingdom of God.
